Privacy Policy

TRI•VIA is a university project prototype for Baltic public transport mobility. It is not an official transport operator, ticket issuer or public authority.

This policy explains the personal information processed when you use the prototype website at trivia-baltics.eu and www.trivia-baltics.eu.

If you choose Sign in with Google, authentication is handled through Google and Supabase Auth. TRI•VIA may receive limited account information made available for sign-in, such as your name, email address and profile image.

We use this information only to authenticate you, display your signed-in account state and associate account-specific features such as saved journeys with your user account. We do not sell Google user data or use it for advertising.

Signed-in users can save journey favorites. The prototype stores the account identifier together with the saved origin, destination and creation time in Supabase.

Row Level Security is used so authenticated users can only access favorites associated with their own account.

If you join the TRI•VIA update list, your email address is stored in Supabase so the prototype can remember the signup and avoid duplicate entries.

If you use the contact form, we process the name, email address, inquiry type and message you provide. Contact and confirmation emails are sent through Resend. The visitor email address may be used as the reply-to address so the project team can respond directly.

The current payment flow uses Stripe Sandbox / test mode. If you open a test checkout, information entered on the Stripe-hosted checkout page is processed by Stripe for that test transaction.

The prototype does not enable real-money transport ticket sales and does not issue a real public transport ticket. Shop purchases shown in the current prototype are also demonstration transactions unless the site clearly states otherwise in a future production release.

Ask VIA can send the question you type, together with limited recent chat context, to the configured AI service so it can generate a travel-related response. The current integration can use the Lovable AI Gateway and an underlying model provider.

Do not enter passwords, payment details, health information or other sensitive personal information into Ask VIA. AI-generated answers can be inaccurate and should not be treated as live transport information.

TRI•VIA uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand basic website usage such as page views, routes, referrers, countries, devices, browsers and operating systems.

Analytics is used to evaluate and improve the university prototype. We do not intentionally use this information to build advertising profiles.

The prototype relies on third-party infrastructure and services including Vercel for hosting and analytics, Supabase for authentication and database features, Google for optional sign-in, Resend for transactional email, Stripe for sandbox checkout, and Lovable / its configured AI provider for Ask VIA when AI is enabled.

Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices where applicable.

Prototype data is kept only for as long as it is useful for operating, testing or demonstrating the project, subject to the retention rules of the services used.

If you want TRI•VIA account-linked favorites, a waitlist entry or other information you submitted to be reviewed or deleted, contact the project through the Contact page and identify the email address associated with your request.

TRI•VIA uses server-side environment variables for private service keys and access controls such as Supabase Row Level Security for account-backed favorites. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

This privacy policy may be updated as the university prototype changes. The current version is dated 8 September 2026.
